An all-electric version of the classic van, a familiar sight in the 1950s, is to go into production.
A classic British van from the 1950s is getting a modern makeover in south Wales, with an all-electric version set to be produced at a new factory. The updated Morris J-Type will retain its iconic design features and will have a range of around 250 miles on a single charge. Production will create around 150 highly skilled jobs and is being backed by the Welsh government's Economy Futures Funding. The van is due to launch in late 2026, just ahead of a new ban on non-electric cars from 2030.
