A Devizes charity is backing the national Buy Nothing New campaign - an alternative to Black Friday.
* Kennet Furniture Refurbiz (KFR) in Devizes, Wiltshire is promoting the "Buy Nothing New" campaign, encouraging people to consider second-hand items on Black Friday.
* The charity has passed on over 18,000 items weighing around 340 tonnes since last year, with many being furniture and electrical goods.
* Managing Director Daniel Thompson says the stigma of buying second-hand is decreasing, but notes that the cost of living crisis means people may not have money to spend on new items this Christmas.
* He argues that reusing items generates far less carbon than recycling or producing new products.
* The charity has expanded its services, including teaming up with another charity for house clearances and opening a new location in Swindon.
* KFR is used by local councils to provide furniture and appliances for those in need through the household support fund, which helped nearly 700 households last year.
