Tue, 02 Dec 2025 Dell family to seed Trump accounts for kids with $250

The donation will help seed new Trump-branded investment accounts.

* Michael Dell and his wife, Susan, plan to donate $250 to 25 million children in the US.
* The donation targets children aged 10 and under who live in areas with a median income below $150,000.
* The money will be routed through Trump-branded investment accounts, which were authorized by Congress earlier this year.
* Children born between 2025 and 2028 are also eligible to receive $1,000 from the government.
* The Dells' gift is intended to help seed those accounts and expand the savings opportunity to more children.
* President Donald Trump said the donation will give middle-class families a stake in American prosperity and a better shot at the American dream.
* The White House Council of Economic Advisers estimates that $1,000 could grow to over $5,800 over 18 years, assuming a 10.3% rate of return.
* Parents can establish Trump accounts as part of the tax filing process, but more details about administration will be available next year.
* Employers, charitable organizations, and others can also donate to the accounts, which are set to launch in July.
* The child can access the money at age 18, at which point the account converts into a retirement account.
