Investors had accused Adidas of misleading them as its relationship with the rapper showed cracks.
* Adidas has won an appeal against a lawsuit filed by shareholders who claimed the company had misled them about Kanye West's behavior before their partnership ended in 2022.
* The court ruled that Adidas did not mislead investors, and that a reasonable investor would know that partnering with a celebrity like West comes with inherent risks related to improper behavior.
* The lawsuit alleged that Adidas continued its partnership with West despite knowing about his anti-Semitic comments and other controversy for years.
* The collapse of the partnership caused Adidas' share price to plummet in 2023, leading to losses for investors who had lost money after buying shares at a higher price.
* The Yeezy brand, which was a lucrative line for Adidas, generated around €1.5bn in sales in 2021 but left Adidas with over €1bn worth of unsold Yeezy shoes when the partnership ended.
* Adidas has since announced plans to sell those products and donate some of the proceeds to charities that work on combating hate.
