Thu, 11 Dec 2025 UK pharma boss says US is the best country to invest in

In an interview with the BBC, Dame Emma Walmsley says she will not "shy away" from GSK's US expansion.

* The deal is seen as a step in the right direction, but Dame Emma says there are still "social demographic root causes" behind the decline of Britain's health outcomes.
* She points to the lack of education around nutrition and British diets as part of the problem.
* GSK hopes to get its new asthma drug approved for use by the NHS within weeks.
* The company is investing in the US due to its leading market position in terms of launches of new drugs and vaccines.
