Rail operators promise more services across the network and faster journeys on some routes.

* More services across the network
* Faster journeys on some routes, including: + 15-minute reduction in journey time between London King's Cross and Edinburgh + 10-minute reduction in journey time between Edinburgh and York
* Improved connectivity between Scotland, North East England, Yorkshire, and London
* Thousands of extra seats every day, thanks to £4bn investment over the past decade
* New services: + LNER: running 10,000 additional services per year + Northern: launching a new hourly fast service between Leeds and Sheffield + Transport for Wales: introducing more services for Chester, Wrexham, and Swansea + Avanti: increasing trains between London and Liverpool
* Cuts to some routes: + Avanti: reducing services from four to two between Blackpool and London
