The company behind President Trump's Truth Social platform makes a surprising move into the energy sector.
A merger deal valued at over $6 billion has been announced between Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG) and TAE Technologies, a Google-backed energy company. The combined entity will create one of the world's first publicly traded fusion companies, with plans to build the world's first utility-scale fusion power plant next year. Fusion power is a clean energy source that releases vast amounts of energy with little radioactivity. TMTG, which operates President Donald Trump's Truth Social platform, will have an equal 50% share in ownership after the deal is completed by mid-2026. The combined company will have a nine-member board and will include Trump Media's current CEO Devin Nunes as co-CEO.
