Visitors who don't live in Rome will have to pay to view the Baroque monument up close from February.
* A €2 entrance fee will be introduced for tourists visiting Rome's Trevi Fountain starting from February 1, 2026.
* The fee is expected to raise €6.5m per year and will fund upkeep and visitor management costs.
* Residents of Rome will not have to pay the fee and can visit certain museums and monuments for free.
* Children under 5, people with disabilities, and their accompanying person will be exempt from the fees.
* Tourists will still be able to view the Trevi Fountain from a distance for free.
