Two pet food banks speak about helping pet owners struggling to feed their animals.

* Animal Foodbank UK has donated over 150,000 meals to pet owners in need across England, Scotland, and Wales.
* The charity, which has charity status, has a network of over 120 volunteers covering the entire UK.
* Anyone can contact the charity for help, without being referred or needing to prove low income or benefits.
* The charity provides two weeks' worth of food for pet owners each month.
* There are only two reasons why donations will not be provided: breeding dogs without promoting responsible ownership, and taking food from the charity then acquiring more pets.
* Another pet food bank, West Bromwich Emergency Pet Pantry, has been established in the West Midlands to cover Sandwell area.
* Both charities recognize the difficult circumstances that can lead to people struggling to provide for their pets, including domestic violence, bereavement, and financial difficulties.
