The Bread and Butter Thing provides healthy, fresh food for those in need.

* The Bread and Butter Thing (TBBT) food charity delivered almost 100,000 meals in Kirklees over the past year
* The charity supported over 8,500 members in the borough and saved struggling families an estimated £740,000
* TBBT's food hubs promote healthy eating and provide nutritious, affordable food to local communities
* 80% of packs are made up of fresh fruit, vegetables, and chilled produce
* Local volunteers contributed 17,907 hours in 2025 to help run weekly sessions
* Councillor Beverley Addy praised the charity's work in supporting Kirklees residents during the cost-of-living crisis
* Vic Harper, chief executive of TBBT, thanked volunteers for their dedication and commitment to making a difference in local communities.
