Sat, 24 Jan 2026 'Incredible' response for kids clothes swap shop

Since launching, the scheme in Eynsham has supported 240 families in Oxfordshire.
A mother from Oxfordshire has helped over 240 families by creating a swap shop for children's clothes. Victoria Greenfield-Coleman started the initiative three years ago and has received an "incredible" response. The swap shop, held every other month at St Leonard's Church in Eynsham, allows parents to exchange outgrown clothes for new ones. The idea came about during lockdown when Victoria accumulated many of her son's outgrown clothes. She thought it was "ridiculous" and decided to create a platform where she could share these items with others. Since then, over 18,000 pieces of clothing have been donated, with almost 11,000 taken home by parents. Parents who use the swap shop say it has been a huge relief, especially for those on a tight budget. One mother described finding the service as "such a relief" after realizing having a baby was much more expensive than expected. Another said she had been "so lucky" to have benefited from many great swaps and that seeing parents picking up donated items was "so special".
