The airline said the fact there were no bags available for less than £5.99 meant the claim was not misleading.
EasyJet has been told by the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) to remove its claim that carry-on baggage fees start from £5.99, as it couldn't provide evidence that passengers can book large cabin bags at this price. The ASA found that customers would assume they could take their bags on flights for £5.99 based on EasyJet's wording, which said the fee was "from" £5.99. However, EasyJet failed to provide proof that bags were available for this price on a significant number of routes and dates. The airline has since changed its website to show that fees vary with demand, route, flight date, and time of booking, and that customers will see the exact price at the time of purchase.
