The parcel delivery giant says it is cutting back on low-profit deliveries for the online retailer.
* UPS plans to cut up to 30,000 jobs this year as it reduces shipments for Amazon
* The job cuts will be made through buyout offers and by not replacing staff who leave voluntarily
* The company reported earnings of $24.5bn for the final quarter of last year and forecast a revenue increase to $89.7bn in 2026
* UPS is continuing its plan to reduce its dependency on Amazon, which it calls "extraordinarily dilutive" to its profit margins
* The company has already cut 48,000 jobs and closed 93 facilities since 2025 as part of a turnaround plan
* UPS will close another 24 facilities in the first half of this year
* The company is also retiring its fleet of MD-11 cargo planes following a deadly crash in November
* Amazon's increasing delivery services have contributed to UPS's decision to cut back on deliveries for the online retailer.
