Friends of Di's Kitchen provides hundreds of meals each week in Wolverhampton.
Friends of Di's Kitchen (FODK) appeals for volunteer drivers to help deliver food to over 900 people in need across Wolverhampton every Thursday afternoon. Founded by Jan Kellond, who was inspired by her friend Dianne Henry's work at a church soup kitchen, the organization has grown from serving six people to nearly 1,000 since its inception in 2020. Despite already having a team of over 50 volunteers, FODK is seeking additional driver volunteers for two hours on Thursdays. The group delivers food and meals to around 475 children every week, and have distributed a total of 169,000 meals across the city since March 2020. Their community work was recognized with a King's Award in 2024, and they rely on donations from local organizations, businesses, and individuals to continue their service.
