Wed, 11 Feb 2026 Disney advert banned for showing 'disturbing' severed body

Disney argued the severed figure in the advert was a robot and "visually distinct from a human".
A Disney advert featuring a severed body has been banned by the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) due to concerns it could frighten and cause distress to children. The advert, promoting the Predator Badlands film, showed an alien character holding up a severed human figure with its bottom half missing. Parents complained that the digital poster was "inappropriate and disturbing" for young children. Disney argued that the severed body was actually a robot and that this made it clear it wasn't a human, but the ASA disagreed. The watchdog found that the advert breached social responsibility and harm and offence provisions of the UK's advertising code. As a result, the advert has been banned and Disney has been ordered to ensure future adverts with potential to cause distress are not seen by children.
