Sat, 14 Feb 2026 Craft beer maker Brewdog put up for sale

Consultants Alix Partners have been brought in to oversee the sales process which could lead to the businesses being broken up.
Brewdog, a Scottish craft beer giant founded by James Watt and Martin Dickie in 2007, has called in financial experts to explore new investment options. The company, which operates breweries and pubs globally including around 60 in the UK, has appointed AlixPartners to oversee the sales process. This move follows a challenging economic climate and aims to focus on the long-term strength and sustainability of the business. Despite this, Brewdog expects to attract substantial interest and its day-to-day operations will continue as normal, with breweries and bars remaining open. The company has made significant changes in recent years, including halting gin and vodka production, announcing job cuts, and closing 10 UK bars.
