Sun, 22 Feb 2026 Funding approved to reduce cold deaths

Citizens Advice's Warm and Well scheme in North Yorkshire will receive the money over three years.
- £50,000 will be provided each year - The funding helps people understand energy deals, offers discounts, and provides advice on fuel debt and saving energy - The service helped 10,000 people last year and secured an additional £650,000 in grants from companies such as British Gas and Northern Powergrid - Councillors say the investment is "excellent" and will have significant benefits for residents
