Sun, 22 Feb 2026 Key social issues identified in charity report

Each year, Citizens Advice selects social policy areas for analysis based on its clients' issues.
- Problems with employment contract terms were no longer at the top of the list, but still an issue. - Access to affordable housing remained second. - Consumer rights moved from first to third position. The charity said consumer rights have improved due to new legislation. Guest workers' issues rose "significantly" and a detailed report will be published once analysis is complete. CAG's client numbers increased slightly to just over 3,000 in 2025. Rising energy costs and poverty remain serious issues that need addressing, affecting more people than figures suggest. New premises and database system make it difficult to compare with previous reports.
