Yorkshire Cat Rescue in Haworth says it paid £282,000 in vet bills in 2025 and rescued 925 animals.

* CEO Lynn Nicholls cites rising costs and lack of neutering as main reasons for cat abandonment.
* A mother cat named Opel and her 6 kittens (Aston, Rover, Diesel, Bentley, Kia) were abandoned in an empty house in Bradford.
* The kittens are now settling into a foster home with no health concerns.
