Mon, 02 Mar 2026 Tax reform calculator launched in Guernsey

P&R creates a tax reform calculator for households to see how proposals could affect them.
To use the calculator, individuals enter financial details such as income, savings, benefits, and expenditure. The committee claims no personal data is saved. If implemented, a General Sales Tax (GST) would be part of a package including reduced income tax, decreased social security contributions, increased pensions and other benefits. According to modeling, most households in Guernsey would end up better off due to these proposed changes. The Policy and Resources Committee is currently exploring alternative tax reform options and will present recommendations in the summer.
