Tue, 03 Mar 2026 Amazon says drones damaged three facilities in UAE and Bahrain

The incidents highlight the vulnerability of key technology infrastructure during military conflicts.
Amazon's cloud computing business, AWS, has been hit by drone strikes at three facilities in the UAE and Bahrain following US and Israeli attacks on Iran. The incidents occurred on Sunday morning, with reports of "objects" hitting a data centre in the UAE causing sparks and fire. On Monday, AWS confirmed that drone strikes had caused outages at two UAE facilities and another in Bahrain due to close proximity. The company reported structural damage, disrupted power delivery, and water damage from fire suppression activities. AWS is working to restore services but warned of ongoing disruptions due to physical damage and unpredictable operating conditions in the Middle East.
