Tue, 17 Mar 2026 Trump seeks to delay meeting with Xi in China

The escalating war in Iran has overshadowed many of the US' foreign policy objectives
The meeting was set to take place between March 31 and April 2 but will now likely happen around late April or early May. US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent confirmed that the delay is not related to trade disagreements with China or requests for Beijing's help in the Gulf, but rather so Trump can remain in Washington to coordinate the war effort.
