The finance firm has apologised for the disruption to its website and app, which has angered many customers.
The company, which manages investments for 2 million people in the UK, said it is no longer seeing the problems and apologized for any inconvenience caused. Clients can now access their accounts as normal, with Hargreaves Lansdown assuring them that their assets and data are secure. There has been no evidence of a cyber incident or data breach. According to monitoring website Downdetector, thousands of people experienced issues with the site since Thursday evening. Some clients have expressed frustration on social media, accusing the company of being irresponsible and threatening to move their business elsewhere. Others have asked if they will receive compensation for any losses incurred due to the technical issues.
