Greg Daily has swapped sleeping on friends' sofas for running a popular digital marketing company.
Greg Daily's life was turned around when he met his wife at church, and now as the founder of Science in Advertising, he helps businesses manage their online advertising. Born into poverty, Daily knows what it's like to struggle financially, having slept on friends' sofas and kitchen floors during his teenage years. However, his grandfather's entrepreneurial spirit stuck with him, and he went on to start a digital marketing firm in Denver that serves large companies to small "mom-and-pop shops".
After dropping out of school at 10, Daily drifted around the US before settling in Colorado and meeting his future wife. He then pursued higher education, first completing a journalism course and later a creative writing diploma from Oxford University. When newspapers began struggling with the rise of smartphones and internet, he turned to digital marketing.
Before launching Science in Advertising, Daily admits that he had six to eight months' worth of savings, which made him "terrified" of failure. He has since built his business around embracing potential risks and viewing failure as an option.
He emphasizes that as long as clients can continue to pay their staff, some level of short-term financial loss is acceptable. Daily's family background, marked by poverty and struggle, still resonates with him, which drives his desire to help small businesses succeed.
Greg builds his business around the idea that failure is always an option, rather than ignoring it.
