The UK's competition watchdog says it is looking at five firms in its investigation into misleading online reviews.
* Just Eat, Autotrader, Dignity, Feefo, and Pasta Evangelists are being investigated by the UK's Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) over concerns about fake and misleading online reviews.
* The probe will focus on how reviews are obtained, moderated, and presented to customers.
* All five firms have confirmed they are co-operating with the investigation.
* The CMA says that around 50% of online reviews may be fake, which can damage consumer trust.
* The regulator has new powers to fine firms for violating consumer law without going through the courts.
* Sue Davies from Which? said "enforcement will be key" and that the regulator must be prepared to issue serious fines if companies aren't playing by the rules.
* Google and Amazon agreed to make significant changes to their processes in January 2025 to help tackle fake reviews.
* The CMA has issued advice on how consumers can avoid fake reviews.
