Tue, 31 Mar 2026 Online tool finds £84,800 in unclaimed benefits

The calculator has helped 68 households identify unclaimed support, a local authority says.
Benefits range from Universal Credit and Pension Credit to Carer's Allowance and Warm Homes Discount. A third of those claiming benefits after using the tool had never claimed benefits before. According to Policy in Practice, around 31,000 people across Peterborough may be entitled to unclaimed benefits. The council has also launched a three-year crisis resilience fund (CRF) to help families become financially stable and provide emergency assistance for those in short-term financial crisis.
