Live Well North East holds fitness classes for parents which cost £4 but offers free childcare.
A charity in County Durham is helping families with the cost of living during the Easter holidays by offering free childcare and adult fitness classes. Live Well North East is holding exercise sessions every day, costing £4 per session, but providing free childcare for parents who attend. The charity believes that this Easter will be particularly tough on families due to rising costs.
Parents have praised the service, calling it "vital" in helping with their wellbeing and finances. One mum of three said: "The free childcare is amazing and it also helps us parents."
A dedicated breakfast club will be held at The Fulforth Centre for primary school-aged children, and is free for families who receive food vouchers under the Department for Education's Holiday Activities and Food programme.
The charity's CEO said that the Easter holiday programme was designed to improve the wellbeing of both parents and children.
