Tue, 14 Apr 2026 Families to get cash to help with school uniforms

Families will be able to get help with back to school costs for children in reception to Year 11.

* Eligible households will receive a lump sum payment during the summer holiday, with £100 for primary school children and £150 for secondary school children.
* The means-tested bonus is open to families with a combined income of up to £75,000 in 2025.
* Automatic payments will be made to households receiving Income Support, while other families can apply through an application form.
* The payment is intended to help cover costs such as uniforms, shoes and stationery.
