The motoring group says prices could start to come down over the next couple of weeks.

* The price of petrol and diesel has stopped rising after 43 days of increases.
* The temporary ceasefire in the Gulf has led to a decrease in crude oil prices, causing wholesale fuel costs to drop.
* Petrol is now selling for just over 158p a litre on average, up from 133p in late February, while diesel has risen from 142p a litre to 192p.
* The RAC predicts that prices could start to come down over the next couple of weeks.
* Diesel prices have gone up more than petrol because it is harder to refine and demand is high globally.
* The UK imports around half of its fuel from abroad, which has contributed to higher prices.
* Rival motoring group AA says the chances of motorists seeing a cut in fuel prices depend on where they live due to "the pump-price postcode lottery".
