How are rising oil prices affecting truckers, carers and heating oil users?
* A UK family haulage firm has seen its fuel bill increase by £100,000 due to the US war with Iran.
* Fuel prices have risen 24.7p for petrol and 47.8p for diesel per litre since February 28.
* The price of home heating oil has doubled from around 60p a litre to over £1.20 per litre.
* Some families are having to switch off their boilers due to the high cost of oil, with many others struggling to make ends meet.
* Carers, who drive long distances to visit clients, are particularly hard hit by rising fuel costs as they receive a flat rate of 32p a mile that has not been increased for several years.
* The Office for National Statistics says fuel price hikes were the biggest factor in pushing inflation up to 3.3% in March.
* Logistics companies have seen fuel price rises of over 24%, and even if the conflict ends immediately, it will take time for supply chains to return to normal.
* Some homes are turning off their heating due to high oil costs, with one family using blankets to stay warm instead.
* The government's £53m scheme to help heating oil users only applies to those on benefits such as Universal Credit or Pension Credit.
