Malaysia-based Karex produces more than five billion condoms a year and supplies global brands like Durex and Trojan.
Karex's CEO Goh Miah Kiat stated that production costs have surged since the conflict began and the firm relies on oil-derived materials like ammonia and silicone-based lubricants.
The company produces over five billion condoms annually, supplying major brands and health systems worldwide.
Demand for condoms has increased by about 30% this year, exacerbating supply shortages caused by higher freight costs and shipping delays.
Goh noted that in uncertain times, the need to use condoms increases as people are more concerned about their future and potential financial responsibilities.
