Fri, 24 Apr 2026 Island's inflation rate is 2.7%, new figures show

Statistics Jersey says there have been "sharp increases" in some energy prices.

* Jersey's Retail Price Index (RPI) rose by 2.7% over the past year.
* Energy prices saw "sharp increases" with heating oil and other fuels up 31.9%.
* Alcohol, food, and household services contributed to the inflation rise.
* Alcoholic drinks increased by 8.6% compared to 5.1% in the previous 12 months.
* Beef prices rose by 19.7%, while coffee and cocoa prices increased by 15.9%.
* Housing, motoring, fares, and other travel, and leisure services groups contributed to the decrease in inflation rate.
* Quarterly RPI increased by 1.4% between December 2025 and March 2026.
