Thu, 30 Apr 2026 Premier Inn owner to cut 3,800 jobs in savings plan

Whitbread says it will also remodel its 197 hotel restaurants as part of a five-year savings plan.

* Job losses will affect 197 hotels, with some staff expected to be redeployed
* Whitbread employs 30,000 people and made 1,500 job cuts in 2024
* The company reported a £298m pre-tax profit for the year to February 26, down 19% on the previous year
* Chief executive Dominic Paul said increased costs, including business rates and national insurance, necessitated the changes
