A radio fault has been resolved but passengers could continue to face long delays, warns National Rail.
* Major disruption was expected on some rail services in southern England until the end of the day due to a radio fault that affected communications between trains and signallers.
* Several train operators were impacted, including South Western Railway, CrossCountry, Southern, Gatwick Express, London Overground, Great Western Railway, and Thameslink.
* Disruption was reported from around 08:53 BST until at least 17:00 BST, with services starting to return to normal but still experiencing delays of up to 90 minutes or cancellations.
* The issue had been resolved by 11:00 BST, but some trains were still held in stations, delayed, or cancelled.
* Passengers were advised to check before travelling and were offered alternative routes for their tickets to be valid.
* Some train operators warned of significant disruption continuing into the evening, with possible delays or cancellations on South Western Railway and CrossCountry services.
* Commuters were urged to avoid London Waterloo station due to long queues and crowds, as well as a separate track fault on the Jubilee line.
