Olga Kefalogianni says the Greek government doesn't want visitors to be "burdened" by biometric checks.
* Greek Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni has announced that British holidaymakers will not face delays or biometric checks at the border, even during peak summer season.
* Greece is aiming for frontier checks to take "less than a couple of minutes".
* The country had suspended biometric checks on UK visitors in early April due to long queues.
* Other EU countries including Portugal and Italy are not exempting British nationals from the new digital border procedure, known as the Entry-Exit System (EES).
* Greece insists it is not breaching EU rules, but rather facilitating the process for visitors.
* Kefalogianni also acknowledged that reports of possible shortages of jet fuel have made tourists more hesitant to travel to Greece.
* Despite this, she remains confident that Greece will welcome a large number of holidaymakers as the season evolves.
