Mon, 18 May 2026 Tube strikes called off by RMT union

The Rail, Maritime and Transport (RMT) union calls off a series of 24-hour strikes starting on Tuesday.

* RMT has suspended Tube drivers' strikes due to start on Tuesday
* Strikes were over voluntary four-day week with condensed hours, but union says "fake four-day week"
* Fresh strikes have been called for 2 and 4 June if progress is not made
* Aslef train drivers' union has accepted the proposals, calling them a good deal for drivers
* Reduced flexibility, shift length, and fatigue are among RMT's concerns about the new rosters
* Transport for London welcomes the suspension of strikes as "good news for London"
