Claude Fable 5 is a version of Anthropic's Claude Mythos, an AI program which caused a stir among technology, finance, and government leaders.
Anthropic's powerful AI tool, Claude Mythos, has been made available to the public after being initially released privately in April. The company claims that safeguards and user limitations are in place, but warns of potential financial security risks. Fable, a version of Claude Mythos, will be released with capabilities exceeding those of any previous model available to the general public.
Some 150 groups were given access to preview Mythos earlier this year and reported finding over 10,000 critical security flaws. The updated tool is expected to go beyond its current limited access to "cyberdefenders and infrastructure providers" soon.
The AI program was initially deemed too powerful for release due to concerns about potential exploitation or hacking of computer systems. Despite these worries, US government agencies have been testing Mythos alongside private companies.
Anthropic's valuation has neared $1 trillion ahead of its expected public listing, driven by the company's consistently impressive AI capabilities. The tool can work unattended on human commands for extended periods, according to the company.
This move marks a significant expansion of access to the powerful AI program, which Anthropic had previously warned could pose risks if released without safeguards in place.
