Tue, 23 Jun 2026 Millions in UK could claim share of £3bn after Apple case given green light

Apple rejected the suggestion its practices are anti-competitive, saying many customers rely on third-party alternatives.

* A class action lawsuit against Apple, which could entitle millions in the UK to a share of a £3bn claim, will proceed to trial.
* The lawsuit alleges that Apple "trapped" users into its cloud service and overcharged them as a result.
* 40 million iCloud customers who used the service between November 2018 and June 2026 are potentially affected.
* If successful, consumers could receive around £77 each in compensation.
* Consumers who do not opt out will be included in the claim unless they explicitly choose to exclude themselves.
* Apple has previously denied any wrongdoing, stating that no customer is required to use iCloud and that there are "plenty of alternatives" available.
