A woman in her 70s was killed after a Tesla crashed directly into the family’s home.
* A Texas woman, Jennifer Barbour, has filed a lawsuit against Tesla and a driver for at least $1m in damages after a Tesla Model 3 crashed into her family home, killing her mother.
* The driver told police he was using Tesla's "full self-driving" technology at the time of the crash, but Elon Musk denied that this was to blame on social media.
* In his denial, Musk claimed that the driver was going at high speed and had overridden the car's self-driving mode by pressing the accelerator all the way down.
* However, the lawsuit claims that the driver was operating the car in a "reasonably foreseeable manner" with full self-driving engaged when the car's technology "failed to detect the end of the street", leading to sudden unintended acceleration and the crash.
* The woman is seeking damages for her mother's death, as well as her husband's severe injuries, and claims that Tesla was negligent in promoting unsafe technology.
* The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is also investigating the crash, which has raised further criticism of Tesla's self-driving technology.
