Thu, 02 Jul 2026 Google must pay €4.1bn fine for using Android to 'block' rivals

A Google spokesperson said the judgement "fails to recognise" the firm's "significant investment to ensure Android remains open."

* The fine was originally €4.3bn in 2018 but was reduced to €4.1bn in 2022
* This is the largest penalty ever imposed on Google by the European Commission
* The company will continue to adapt its agreements to comply with EU regulations
