Fri, 03 Jul 2026 Security staff strikes averted at Aberdeen Airport

The strikes, involving baggage screening staff, were due begin on Monday with the Unite union warning of "significant delays".
The union, which represents baggage screening staff, had been due to start industrial action on Monday but will now work alongside ICTS HBS Security to resolve the dispute through further negotiations. ICTS has confirmed that a breakthrough has been made and the proposed strikes have been cancelled. Aberdeen Airport said it had robust contingency measures in place but no impact was expected from the strike action. The deal comes after summer strikes were averted at Glasgow and Edinburgh airports due to new pay agreements being reached. The union, Unite, had previously supported industrial action at Aberdeen Airport, with its members unanimously backing the move.
