The divorce, involving the chairman of one of South Korea's biggest companies, has gripped the nation.
South Korean court orders SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won to pay ex-wife Roh Soh-yeong 944 billion won (approximately £483 million or $644 million) in divorce settlement. This decision comes after a decade-long dispute over assets and follows a previous ruling that was overturned by the Supreme Court last year. The award is lower than the initial 1.38 trillion won ordered in 2024, but still one of the largest in South Korean history. Chey's lawyers have expressed regret for any concerns caused by the proceedings and will review the verdict before making further comment.
