Trading on South Korea's Kospi index was paused temporarily on Tuesday morning after sliding by 8%.
* Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix, two key technology companies, have seen their stocks fall by over 10%.
* The slump has been led by tech firms, with Nvidia's shares also falling by 5% on Monday, causing it to lose its position as the world's most valuable listed company to Apple.
* Trading on South Korea's Kospi index was paused temporarily after a slide of 8%, before resuming and falling further to around 10% lower.
* Japan's Nikkei 225 has also been affected, with a drop of almost 4.5%.
* The decline has led some analysts to question whether AI technology can become profitable enough to recoup huge investments made by governments and companies.
