Tue, 28 Jul 2026 Energy prices rise by 19% in a year -report

The Retail Prices Indices and Household Costs Indices inflation statistics have been published.
Energy prices have increased by 19% over the past year, according to new data from Guernsey's RPI and Household Costs Indices (HCI) inflation statistics. This represents the largest increase in fuel and light costs, which rose by 19% compared to the same period last year. The tobacco group also saw a significant rise of 11.7%, while catering prices increased by 6.3%. Households with retired adults experienced the highest overall increase in household costs, at 5.2%.
