Tue, 28 Jul 2026 Horror maestro Mike Flanagan joins Henry Cavill on Warhammer adaptations

The director is due to work on scripts based on the popular tabletop hobby, Games Workshop says.

* Director Mike Flanagan, known for his work on Netflix series such as Midnight Mass and The Haunting of Hill House, has been recruited by Games Workshop to work on its upcoming Warhammer 40,000 adaptations.
* Henry Cavill, a Warhammer superfan, will produce and star in TV and film projects based on the miniature tabletop wargame, and is still involved with the project despite previous concerns about his involvement.
* Games Workshop has seen a drop in revenue from licensing video games, but has announced four new video game tie-ins this year and reported record-high results in its annual financial report.
* The company's chief executive, Kevin Rountree, said that Games Workshop does not use Gen AI in product design or the creation of its IP, but may be using it outside of the Warhammer studio due to third-party software.
