Fri, 31 Jul 2026 Group's mission to appreciate every piece of food

Food in Community takes unwanted and surplus produce from growers and farmers.

* Devon farmer Lloyd Stone donates surplus courgettes to Food in Community, a Dartington-based organization that rescues food from waste.

* Sandra Crawford, box manager at Food in Community, says boxes are given to people referred to the organization due to need or difficulty.
* One crop that has been plentiful this year is courgettes, which Lloyd Stone donates after some are too large for human consumption.
* Totnes Rural Action Youth Engagement (TRAYE) receives free fruit and vegetable boxes from Food in Community, helping young people learn to cook and prepare meals.
