Mon, 10 Aug 2026 Water outage forces Chessington theme park to close

Chessington says all tickets booked for Monday can be used on a future date.

* Chessington World of Adventures has closed due to a burst water main in Leatherhead Road, affecting parts of south-west London.
* Thames Water said its specialist team is on site repairing the damage and most customers should have their supply back to normal by 13:20 BST.
* Temporary measures are in place while a permanent repair is completed, which may cause low pressure for a short time as flow returns to normal.
* The resort has closed for the day, but guests with tickets will be revalidated for a future date. Those unable to return can contact the help centre for a refund.
* The closure falls during one of the busiest periods for UK theme parks, the school summer holidays.
