Co-founder John Pye of John Pye Auctions has passed away at the age of 95. The company, which was founded by John and Ann Pye in 1968 as a partnership named "Furniture & General Auctions", has paid tribute to its co-founder's life and legacy. John Pye lived a life full of hard work and determination, transforming a small business into a British industry-leading company. From humble beginnings with just a horse and cart, the company grew over the years and expanded to larger premises in Nottingham. It also acquired new sites across the UK and in Spain. The company's statement described John as "a true local legend" and praised his positive impact on those around him. The firm expressed its gratitude for the kind words and support from everyone during this difficult time, stating that he will be greatly missed by all. John Pye Auctions now has auction hubs across the country, including in Derby, Birmingham, Bo'ness, Margam, and Zaragoza, Spain, offering 24-hour timed auctions since 2007.
