The Medical Officer Health Report shows 36% of young people are certain they will leave the island.

* Only 27% of students aged 16-24 said they feel confident that they will stay in Guernsey
* 36% said they were sure they would leave, citing a lack of career opportunities and poor weather as reasons
* 37% said they were unsure whether their future lies in Guernsey
* The main concerns of young islanders include: + Road transport: high cost of fuel, state of the roads, closures, and amount of traffic + Lack of things to do, with some calling winter a "snoozefest" + Education: lack of teachers for specific subjects, high turnover of teachers, and poor state of school buildings
* Many young people feel that they are not heard by the government and have little influence over decision-making.
