Thu, 13 Aug 2026 Twitch users can now block Amazon from using their content to train AI

The streaming platform's users criticised the move to allow the use of channel content for AI training.
- Users can now disable the default setting that allows Amazon to use streams, clips, images, chats and other channel content to train its generative AI models. - Twitch Chief Product Officer Mike Minton said "nobody would opt-in" if the option was turned off by default. - The data collected will not be re-sold to other companies and users can still have their channel content used for training if they remain opted in. - Users who want to disable generative AI training must go through a user's channel settings. - Twitch's move comes as an industry standard, with many content services having similar default settings. - Amazon has not commented on when it began collecting Twitch users' data.
